Welcome to the Diocese of Masvingo

The Diocese of Masvingo is the fifth and newest Anglican Diocese in Zimbabwe, established in 2001. It is part of the Anglican Province of the Church of Central Africa and a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

The Right Reverend Godfrey Tawonezvi is the first Anglican Bishop of Masvingo. Starting from almost nothing the Diocese has developed during its short life and, despite many challenges, financial, geographical and political, is now in good heart. New churches are being built, congregations are growing, able young clergy are being ordained and the Diocese is also serving the people of Zimbabwe through its education and development work.

A message from Bishop Godfrey Tawonezvi

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Anglican Diocese of Masvingo, which is part of the Anglican Communion and The Province of Central Africa. We hope that by visiting this website you will find out much about life in this vibrant and inspiring part of Zimbabwe.

The mission of the Diocese of Masvingo is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to revive and build churches, to develop congregations through a diocesan fellowship of dedicated and well trained clergy, working under the guidance and supervision of the Bishop. We maintain a large number of Diocesan schools and we are committed to development projects which address the devastation, poverty and suffering caused by drought, economic crisis and HIV/AIDs.

We welcome and value your partnership in the work of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

God Bless
+Bishop Godfrey
